Workplace Safety and Health (Operation of Cranes) Regulations 2011 stipulates that:
“No person shall be appointed as a Lifting Supervisor for any lifting operation involving the use of crane in a workplace unless he has successfully completed a training course acceptable to the Commissioner.”
* The existing Factories Act was repealed and replaced by the New Workplace Safety and Health Act (WSHA) with effect from 1st March 2006.
This course would be appropriate for individuals with job titles such as: Line Managers, Lifting Supervisor and Foreman.
By the end of the course, participants would be competently trained to be a lifting supervisor. He / she will equip with the necessary knowledge and skills to ensure all the lifting operations are carried out safely.

Certificate of Successful Completion will be issued to the participants with more than 75% attendance and has successfully completed the course and passed the examinations.
At least 18 years of age
Singaporeans, Permanent Residents or Holders of valid employment pass / work permit
Workplace Literacy and Numeracy Level 4 under Employability Skills System (ESS) or equivalent
Must be physically and mentally fit for the training with no handicap
* Please attach a copy of the highest education certificate at time of application
* Those 60 years and above must produce a medical certificate of physical fitness
Assumed Skills & Knowledge
Successfully completed Signalmen and Rigger Courses
* Proof of (i) Signalmen Course and (ii) Riggers Course certificates at time of application are recommended
This course is a mandatory training course for individuals who are assigned to supervise lifting involving a mobile crane or tower crane.
Skills Development Fund (SDF) & Skills Redevelopment Program (SRP)
For eligibility, trainees must be company sponsored and are either Citizens or PR of Singapore. They are to submit the application directly to SDF/SRP. Please visit www.skillsconnect.gov.sg. The application will be subjected to SDF/SRP's requirements and consideration.
